Latest Developments

At A & K Nuts (K) Ltd, we are constantly growing, adapting, and innovating to better serve our farmers, clients, and communities. Here are some of the latest developments and what to look forward to in the near future.

Mission and Values Refresh – June 2025

After seven years of steady growth and learning, we have revisited and refreshed our mission, vision, and core values to better reflect who we are and where we are going. Our renewed focus centers on sustainability, farmer empowerment, and building a thriving, inclusive macadamia sector that delivers lasting value to Kenyan communities.

Advancing Toward ISO 22000 Certification

We are actively aligning our systems and operations with ISO 22000 food safety standards. This move reflects our commitment to transparency, traceability, and world-class food processing, key to meeting both local and global expectations for food safety and quality.

Farmer Training and Outreach Expansion

Over the past year, we have scaled up our training and extension services to smallholder farmers across Meru, Embu and neighboring counties. Topics such as regenerative farming, quality control, and post-harvest handling are at the core of our capacity-building agenda, helping farmers improve both yields and incomes.

Team Growth and Skills Development

From just two founding members, our team has grown into a dynamic and diverse workforce. We continue to invest in staff training, workplace safety, and leadership development to ensure our team remains motivated, skilled, and aligned with our long-term goals.

Product Innovation and Market Diversification

As part of our future growth strategy, we are preparing to launch value-added product lines that will expand our offering beyond raw and roasted macadamia nuts. These include:

  • Cold-pressed macadamia oil for culinary and cosmetic use
  • Macadamia-based cookies and snacks for retail markets
  • Roasted and seasoned cashews
  • High-quality peanuts, both plain and flavored

These innovations are aimed at increasing local value addition, reducing post-harvest loss, and offering healthier, proudly Kenyan snack options to consumers.

We are excited about what lies ahead and will continue to keep you informed as we grow, innovate, and deepen our impact. Thank you for being part of the A & K Nuts (K) Ltd journey.
